Final Technology Statement

I have learned so much from Instructional Technology. I never would have thought how much you can use technology in the classroom. I am so excited that I know all of these new programs because I will be able to make my class much more interesting. The possibilities are endless as far as what you can do with technology in the classroom. I especially enjoy the interactive powerpoint. It was a lot of work but what a fun way for students to learn new things. I do not think that I will ever teach a unit without using one of the programs that I have learned this semester.

Blog Entry 3

As I am working on my Interactive Powerpoint I am discovering many more ways to incorporate technology into the classroom. I love the Inspiration program. I can see using this program myself to organize my lessons. I can also see showing this program to the students because it would be a wonderful way to do book reports and to display notes. I am glad that I am learning to make an interactive powerpoint as well. I will use this to design other programs for my students to use. I think that it is a fun and easy way for students to be exposed to both technology and the subject being taught.

Technology Improving Education?

I think that technology has come such a long way. There are so many things that you can use in the classroom. I know that I will use the powerpoint when I am a teacher. I enjoy powerpoints once in awhile, as long as they are not overused. I found that our powerpoint presentation taught me some things that I never knew could be done. I also really enjoy doing movies on the computer. I already use that in my daycare. I am a teacher in the infant room. When the babies leave my room to enter the toddler room, I take all of the pictures that I have taken and I put together a cute movie with music. The parents really enjoy them. I think that it would be fun to make your own educational videos for your classroom. It would be a way to get the children excited because you could use music that the students enjoy. I think that would be a wonderful way to the get students interested and engaged. I am very much looking forward to using these programs in my classroom.

Technology in Education

Technology plays a very important role in education today. Ask yourself this, when was the last time that you stepped into a classroom and the teacher did not use any form of technology during the class? Chances are it has been a very long time, if ever at all. I think that if technology was taken out of the classroom that the teachers would struggle for different methods of teaching. With technology the possibilities are endless, for the teacher and the student. While I think that all of technology is crucial in education, I feel that the computer is by far the most important. I know that when I am teacher I will depend on the computer for many things. Even now, working in a daycare, I use the computer to help form effective lesson plans. I feel that as educators of the future, we are extremely fortunate to have the technology luxuries that we do.
